Dr. Reyes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, solidifying her standing among her peers. In 2019, she joined BayCare, where she continues to make a profound impact on the lives of her patients and their families. Dr. Reyes also gained international recognition as the president of Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons. As a board-certified surgeon in General and Pediatric Surgery, Dr. Reyes possesses a comprehensive skill set to address a wide range of surgical needs in pediatric patients.

Dr. Cynthia Reyes holds a remarkable distinction as the first Hispanic woman formally trained in pediatric surgery in the United States. Her groundbreaking achievement has paved the way for future generations of diverse surgeons, highlighting the importance of representation and inclusivity in the medical field.

 With over 32 years of pediatric surgical experience, Dr. Reyes is a recognized authority in her field. Her commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evidenced by her published research on ECMO, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, chest wall deformities, necrotizing enterocolitis, quality and patient safety, and clinical documentation improvement. Furthermore, she has contributed to the academic community as a Professor of Surgery at both the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
